Metal-Metal

For each service and depending on fluid, pressure, temperature and size of the valve suitable materials and coatings will be applied on Carbide of Tugsteno, Chromium Carbide or Estelite.

Sealing provided as standard is according to ISO 5208, Rate D, since it is normally about all-or-nothing valves. BAC VALVES has an R+D laboratory with all necessary the equipment to do tests until 500ºC.

Features

Valves that can be metal (up to +200ºC) or graphite seated (up to +350ºC). Use of a double stuffing box self adjustable They are blow out proof stem BAC VALVES ball valves with a side entry cover from floating Ball Valves to Trunnion Ball Valves.

Products

Our wide range of floating side entry metal seated valves covers abrasive services up to +200ºC and the metal and graphite seated up to +450ºC. Our offer inlcudes Floating Ball Valves and Trunnion Ball Valves. The range of metal seated valves are designed with a double stuffing box self-adjustable, blow-out proof stem, fugitive certification ISO 15848 BH/TA-LUFT and a top flange according to ISO 5211. They are bidirectional valves, a Chrome Carbide hard faced ball and seat optional Tungsten Carbide and Stellite 6, and seat leakage according to ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class VI. The range of graphite seated are designed with a stuffing box blow out proof stem due to a graphite packing stem seal and a certified ISO 5211 top flange. It has sinterized electrographite seats and a seat leakage ISO 5208 Rate A.

Application

  • High-Pressure Pipelines: Metal seated ball valves are ideal for high-pressure applications in oil and gas pipelines, where they can withstand extreme pressures and prevent leakage.
  • Refineries: In refineries, these valves manage the flow of crude oil and refined products at high temperatures and pressures, often dealing with abrasive media and contaminants.
  • Offshore Platforms: The harsh, corrosive environment of offshore oil rigs requires valves that can resist saltwater, high pressures, and abrasive materials, making metal seated ball valves a suitable choice.
  • Corrosive Chemicals: Metal seated ball valves are used in the handling of highly corrosive chemicals, such as acids and alkalis, due to their resistance to chemical attack and ability to maintain tight shutoff.
  • High-Temperature Reactions: These valves are crucial in processes involving high-temperature reactions, where traditional soft-seated valves would degrade quickly.
  • Polymerization Processes: In the production of polymers, metal seated ball valves are used to control the flow of viscous and abrasive materials that would damage softer valve seats.
  • Slurry Handling: Metal seated ball valves are designed to handle abrasive slurry, a mixture of water and solid particles, which is common in mining operations.
