Design Project Management

We consistently undertake R&D+i projects that arise from specific customer or industry needs. For these projects, we allocate our most experienced engineering team. These projects are meticulously managed and planned, and they are included in our management review due to their strategic importance.

3D Design

BAC VALVES has a highly skilled Technical Department. using the latest design tools which combined with a deep know-how, allows to fulfill customer needs.

Finite Element Analysis

We have advanced systems to run simulations and understand the physics behind our products in order to predict its performance, calculate the safety margin and identify the optimal design with certainty according to API, ASME and AWS regulations.

Computational Fluid Dynamics

We use a CFD system which allows us to predict physical fluid flow by solving the equations using computational tools. We can analyze the physical properties of the liquids such as speed, pressure, viscosity, density and temperature. With this test, we aim to reach the maximum efficiency and verify the resistance of the material.

Design Validation Test

BAC VALVES demonstrates the reliability of the valves through DVT. Valves are subjected to different types of tests to ensure a good and quality performance under maximum and minimum conditions. Some of the tested features are pressure, temperature or emissions. Once a valve has been tested, it's disassembled to inspect any damage or deviation. In BAC VALVES we use DVT to ensure the best performance of the valve designs and its reliability and safety according to the design specifications and requirements.

Fire safe

BAC VALVES certifies all their valves running fire-safe tests to determine the resistance of the valves when exposed to conditions determined in standards such as ISO 10497, API 607. We have the facilities and a high-qualified personnel to run fire-safe tests API 607 / API 6FA / ISO 10497. Our bunker is built with reinforced concrete and with all the specifications to control the fire from a safe distance. We compromise the valve to prove the quality of sealings making sure there is no interanal or external leaking.

Cryogenic and low temperature tests

Our tests can expose the valves to extreme temperatures below -196ºC. This allows us to measure housing and seat leaks, and torque values. All our tests are subjected to international standards such as ISO 28921-1, or Shell MESC SPE 77/200. Cryogenic testing is important in the growing hydrogen technology sector in order to identify all the characteristics and behavior of the materials. We have all the equipment to perform immersions, continuous flow tests, and a temperature chamber. This test allows us to verify the functionality and safety at low-temperature.

High-temperature testing

In order to simulate operational conditions and prove the high efficiency of the material and design of our valves we run tests conducted at temperatures up to 400ºC. By running high-temperature tests we get to know some specifications such as the reliability of the valve when exposed to extreme temperatures, the quality and resistance of the material and its sealing capacity.

Fugitive Emissions Valve Testing

Our valves are subjected to fugitive emission tests to ensure the quality of the sealing to protect any possible harmful emission contributing to environmental pollution or human damage. All these tests can be run under different temperatures using gases such as helium or methane. All tests are certified and carried out under standard regulations like ISO 15848-1, API 622 or Shell SPE 77/312.

High-pressure testing

BAC VALVES has special equipment and safe spaces to submit the valves to high-pressure conditions with both gas (generating pressure up to 750 bar) and liquid (generating pressure up to 1000 bar) under strict safe measures and requirements to ensure a safe operation. This way we can ensure the integrity of the valve shell, seat and seal against any type of leakage under pressure.

These conditions are always higher than the operational ones the valve will face. We carry all the test according to API and ISO standards.
